Thrive SPC’s compassion and relatability live in every part of our organization, from the in-the-field nurses to our local offices and also through our efforts to attract and retain nurses to support the pediatric patients we care for. With our recruiting approach, “For Nurses by Nurses,” we help nurses find their next perfect role.

What is “For Nurses by Nurses?”

“For Nurses by Nurses” is a belief that nurses themselves can best understand the specific needs, challenges, and priorities of other nurses. This is why at Thrive SPC, two out of four Talent Acquisition Specialists are former nurses, including Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist Michelle Corbin.

Michelle Corbin’s Experience as a Nurse Helps Her Make Meaningful Connections with Other Nurses

When speaking with nurses, Michelle believes that having TA Specialists who are also nurses makes Thrive SPC stand out. “Being able to relate to the nurses and connect with them helps to get them on board,” she explains. “We can understand their background and the lingo that comes with medical terminology. We’re able to talk with them and they can say ‘Hey, okay, you understand what I’m talking about.’” In some ways, Michelle and other Thrive SPC TA Specialists can act as mentors, using their experience to offer guidance that helps other nurses find the next best fit for them.

Because of this, Michelle can develop even stronger relationships during her interviews with potential nurses. “I speak to lots of nurses every day,” she says. “The connections I’ve had with all of them are there. It’s like a match made in heaven. You can feel the energy that they’re radiating.”

Thrive SPC’s Recruiting Process is Led By Compassion

Michelle believes the best part about working at Thrive SPC is the ability to work with a great team while knowing the organization’s main mission is to help medically fragile children grow and flourish to their full potential.

“What we do, there’s a reason why we’re doing it. Having compassion is what compels us to want to do better,” she says. “We’re really compassionate about wanting to provide care for those kids, and making sure that they are going to be the best version of themselves, especially in a home setting.”

Every employee works at Thrive SPC because of their hopes of making a positive difference in a child and their family’s life.
