In a year in which the office and administrative staff of Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care (Thrive SPC) was largely working remote and office holiday gatherings were out of the question, finding a way to spread holiday cheer after a particularly difficult year was challenging.

“We wanted to find a unique gift that fit with our purpose and budget and felt personal even though we couldn’t be gathering together,” said Communications Manager Julie DeSilva. Enter Eastern Standard Provisions Co., a Boston-based artisanal pretzel company, that checked all the boxes and more.

During the holidays Eastern Standard Provisions offered a corporate gift-giving program. For each box of pretzels shipped to a teammate, a $10 donation would be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each box included a “Sprinkle Hope” sticker and a message: “This little bit of holiday cheer for you and yours also includes a $10 donation to St. Jude’s. We appreciate you! Happy Holidays from Thrive SPC.”

Started by renowned baker, Lauren Moran, and a New England-based team looking to make the perfect soft pretzel, Eastern Standard Provisions has a commitment to social responsibility that made it a perfect match for Thrive SPC.

According to Director of Corporate Sales Kelly Fay, “all of Eastern Standard Provisions’ founders and many of the employees have children, so we know first-hand how devastating it can be when your child is sick. That’s why it was so important to us to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.”

“Our teammates loved the pretzels and the fact that they could share a special treat with their families. The donation to St. Jude’s was the icing on the cake,” said DeSilva. “As a startup company that believes strongly in being a part of the communities where our families and patients live and work, supporting a local business was important.

“The resulting donation of more than $4,000 to St. Jude’s on behalf of our teammates aligned with our core value of social responsibility and made this the perfect holiday gift all around.”
