Haley Lundy is the Location Director of Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care in the Beaumont, Texas office. Learn more about Haley and her experience working at Thrive SPC.

Haley Started as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) When She was 15

At only 15 years old and before she even had a driver’s license, Haley began her career as a CNA for geriatric patients. Eventually, she grew into an administrative role in the adult home health population, learning more about the business side. After taking a short break to be a mom to her five kids, she discovered Thrive SPC and worked as a Care Experience Manager before she became the Location Director at the Beaumont, Texas office.

Haley has taken care of patients both at the end of their lives with geriatric care and at the beginning of their lives in pediatric care, and she emphasizes how the two groups deserve the utmost care and respect, as they can be truly dependent on nurses. “I think that really grew my heart for caring for people in need,” she says.

Haley’s Son Inspired Her to Join the Pediatric World

When Haley began looking for a new job after having kids, she knew she wanted to work in the pediatric field, as one of her sons has a medical complexity and autism. Because of her own experience, Haley understands the value that home care and home health can bring to families. “I understand sometimes you need to just vent and let it out,” she says. “Having a medically complex child and special needs child is empowering to me because he’s taught me how to advocate for him. And I hope and pray that what I can do with other families is advocate and fight for them.”

At Thrive SPC, Haley Adores Working with Families & Nurses

As a Location Director, Haley has the opportunity to work with patients, their families, and nurses. She is a compassionate problem-solver at heart, working to understand the needs of these patients, families, and nurses and how she can help meet those needs.

Haley treasures all of the memories she makes with Thrive SPC families. “A precious moment to me while being here with Thrive SPC was at the time of one of my patients’ passing, I went to be with the family, and his mother told me that she couldn’t imagine a better place or a better company to be providing care for her child at the time of his passing,” she says. Haley knows her work makes an impact, and she is reminded of that every day.

Haley Takes Pride in Thrive SPC’s Open-Door Policy

Haley notes that at Thrive SPC, the employees drive everything they do; they drive their schedules and how many hours they want to work. Thrive SPC is a place where everyone is welcome to share their wins, sad moments, questions, and ideas for improvement. “I love it that our teammates come and sit and communicate with us,” Haley says, “and they feel comfortable enough to come and be part of the family.”

Haley’s Personal Goals at Thrive SPC and Beyond

“My dream is to advance in my career,” Haley explains. “I would love to be a multi-site leader someday. But my number one goal is that everyone that interacts with me feels supported.” For Haley, Thrive SPC is not just a career; it’s a lifestyle. She strives to go above and beyond for medically fragile children and their families.
