Growing company aims to be national leader in pediatric home health care
Richmond, Virginia – Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care, a national provider of clinical home care for medically fragile children, has acquired The Pediatric Connection, a nearly two decades old firm that is one of the leading providers of pediatric home care, medical equipment, and nutritional supplies in Virginia.
The company was a natural fit for Thrive, which currently provides skilled pediatric home care in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas, and was looking to provide additional lines of service in the pediatric home care space, according to Greg Serrao, chairman, president, and CEO of Thrive.
“The Pediatric Connection is one of the first companies we met with since founding Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care. It’s the only full-service home health care company we know of that is focused solely on the pediatric patient population,” said Serrao. “This acquisition adds Virginia to our service area, the sixth state in which we operate. It also broadens our service offerings by adding respiratory therapy, home medical equipment, and enteral nutrition, which we intend to bring to our other markets.”
Thrive’s mission is to provide high quality clinical home care to medically fragile children so they can grow and flourish to their full potential. Founded in 2016, its goal is to be the provider of choice for parents, doctors, and referral sources, as well as the employer of choice for in-home clinical care providers.
In business since 1998, The Pediatric Connection has an excellent reputation for advocating for children with complex medical needs and is a strong supporter of the community, most notably through its annual Make a Difference Day, which recently raised funds for local charities Fit4Kids, Sportable, and ChildSavers to help Richmond kids be more active and healthy.
Serrao is confident that Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care’s infrastructure and leadership team will provide a smooth transition for the patients of The Pediatric Connection and provide much-needed additional services to patients in Thrive’s other service areas.
“The Pediatric Connection is a caring group of people solely focused on children. This company clearly aligns with our mission. We are excited to have them join our team, and we look forward to working with the patients and families in Virginia,” said Serrao.
